Privacy & Zero Data Retention

Vinci is built so you own your AI. Privacy isn’t a setting you turn on — it’s the default.

Zero Data Retention (ZDR)

We do not retain your prompts or completions on our servers.

  • API. Message content is never written to logs, analytics, or any datastore. We record only metadata for metering — model, token counts, status, and timestamps.
  • Web app. Your conversation history lives in your browser (IndexedDB), not on our servers. It never leaves your device unless you ask; clear it anytime.
  • Demo (no account). Fully ZDR — we keep only a small signed counter to enforce the free message limit. Nothing you type is stored.

The one exception: documents you upload

If you upload documents for retrieval, those are stored — that’s the whole point of uploading them. They are scoped to your account and deleted the moment you delete them. Everything else stays ZDR.

Canadian data residency

Inference and any route that carries your prompts run in Montreal (ca-central-1) — never US infrastructure. Account data (email, hashed keys, usage counters) is stored in Canada as well.

Your account & keys

  • API keys are stored only as a hash; the secret is shown once. Rotate or revoke anytime — a revoked key stops working immediately.
  • Email verification and password reset protect account access.
  • We collect the minimum needed to run the service.
